Overview

For the third year running, chilli fiends will be able to fulfil their spiciest fantasies at Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen's annual Hot Sauce Festival. The event will be held over two spice-filled days for 2018.

Fire Dragon Chillies creator Clint Meyer and Sweat Shop owner Mark Jackson will present more than 100 hot sauces from producers across the country. The fiery lineup will also include at least six winners from the World Hot Sauce Award Championships. For those who think they're a dab hand at creating red-hot condiments, a homemade hot sauce competition will be judged by the local hot sauce consortium.

The main event will be the final of the 2018 NZ Chilli Eating Champs. Roll up to watch the country's strongest iron stomachs blow a gasket and ruin their weekends with the world's hottest chilli, the Carolina Reaper.

A themed menu will also be on offer at the inner-city bar, flaunting fiery cocktails, chilli beers and spicy smokehouse food. Those who like it even spicier will have the option of using their complimentary bottle of Fire Dragon Chillies x Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen hot sauce, made especially for the festival.
