Overview

Jonny Rudduck built up a remarkably loyal following during the 16 years he made pizza at Il Buco. In 2018, after hawking more than 750,000 slices, he closed the doors of the Roman-style pizza institution to have a break.

Those longing for one of the famous square slices will be pleased to hear that the pizzeria is returning to Ponsonby until the end of the year. Mackelvie Street's Fitzroy Lounge Bar is the new home of Il Buco until 22 December, and this time you can get an ice-cool bevy with your slice.

Il Buco's entire range of four-sided segments will be rotated, including the classic meatball slice, the triple-threat combo of mushroom, artichoke and ham, and vegan options like the Diavola and Ortolana. Slices are $6 each. If customers have a special request or would like catering they can contact [email protected].
