Overview

New Zealand's foremost photography event Image Nation returns for a two-day conference, featuring ten inspirational presentations by renowned photographers and leading industry experts on both the international and national stage.

Be immersed in two days of discovery as exceptional photographic talents share the methods and motivations behind their work and processes. Covering the fields of editorial, commercial and advertising photography, both emerging and established photographers alike will savour the talks by industry veterans whose work reaches the eyes of millions.

Joining Image Nation among others in 2015 is Fiona Quinn, an accomplished contributor to the fashion landscape who uses her meticulous eye and intrinsic understanding of the photographic process to create evocative editorials and commercial campaigns; Peter Bennetts, an industry veteran who travelled to the far-flung corners of the world in pursuit of environmental reportage. His burgeoning interest in the constructed environment lead Bennetts to the field of architecture and design and his work regularly features in the likes of Wallpaper*, Frame and Dwell; Sean Izzard, an in-demand photographer whose editorial work transitioned to advertising. Izzard combines the adaptability of editorial and high production values of advertising, without compromising on authenticity; Lisa Reihana, multi-disciplinary Maori artist who recently exhibited at Auckland Art Gallery. Reihana has earned a reputation for her powerful contributions to contemporary photography and screen culture through her intelligent understanding of the photographic language.
