Overview

Because sometimes words can't quite capture our every thought, In House gives four local songwriters the opportunity to converse with their audience through music instead. First up is Don McGlashan of '80s fame thanks to his hits with 'Blam Blam Blam', most notably 'Don't Fight it Marsha, It's Bigger Than Both of Us' as well as his acclaimed hit 'Anchor Me' and post as lead singer of The Mutton Birds. The other talent includes Rodney Fisher of alternative pop/rock band Goodshirt, Anna Coddington and Jol Mulholland.

Last year's event of the same name saw the talent bouncing off one another, sharing ideas and brainstorming through song. To keep the music flowing, each artists follows a roster. He or she must play one of their songs that the audience would expect to hear from them, followed by an unexpected one. Then they will play a new song, and a cover that made them think of Auckland or the life within it in a different way. It's basically a conversation through music.

All proceeds from the night go towards the not-for-profit organisation, The New Zealand Music Foundation.
