Overview
Year after year the NZ International Comedy Festival delivers an array of hilarious, unmissable comedy acts coming from all corners of the world to delight audiences across our fair nation. And this year is set to be no different. The festival will run from April 22 through until May 15, and as always the festival have secured a selection of domestic favourites as well as international game-changers promised to set a smile on your dial.
Among the comical delights making their way to New Zealand over April is English funny man James Acaster who is expected to entrance audiences with his new show RESET. In its world premiere RESET has been tipped as a festival highlight already, with James' relentless commitment to comedy on display as he finds himself with something to look forward to. Something we all want. In a bid to win the esteemed Foster's Comedy Award for Best Show, James is premiering the new set for New Zealand audiences before taking it across to the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Awards in a hope that it is fifth-time lucky for the prestigious award.
Acaster first pleased New Zealand audiences back in 2013 before returning to comedy cave The Classic for a sell-out run in 2014 when he won the coveted NZICF Best International Comedy act. With TV appearances on hits such as Live at the Apollo, The John Bishop Show, Russell Howard's Good News and Have I Got News For You the practiced comedian is set to be a must see this comedy festival.
