Overview

Lana Walters and James Mustapic have teamed up for this year's New Zealand International Comedy Festival for five shows starting May 9. Both comedians found themselves as Raw Quest Finalists in 2016 and were described by fellow comedian Brendan Lovegrove as "Two of the best young comedians in NZ".

Fans of The Spinoff may recognise Mustapic from his Repressed Memories series where he delves into the depths of New Zealand television archives and analyses shows with his trademark satirical style. To describe his humour as dry is perhaps an understatement as he delivers lines plastered with irony while keeping an impassive expression.

Voted as Best Newcomer at last year's Comedy Guild Awards, Lana Walters is the other half of this twosome as they both tell tales of their life experiences. Expect to hear a lot of chat involving boys and genuine banter. Neither appear shy about opening up about their lives and seeing the funny side — something all of us should do.

With only five shows at the Basement Studio and tickets under $20, get in quick.
