If there's one thing that's worth celebrating, it's the promise of longer, warmer days. Such a celebration is coming our way on June 21 as La Cigale hosts the Winter Solstice Night Market at its home location of 69 St Georges Bay Road, Parnell.
For the one-off event La Cigale is collaborating with the Auckland Food Truck Collective and Parnell The Space To Be to encourage Aucklanders to embrace the cold winter nights and mark the new solar year. Celebrating one of the world's oldest celebrations of light and the start of the new lunar year, La Cigale will come alight with entertainment from DJ Jarrod Phillips as well as a host of delicious eats from the likes of Bacon Brothers Auckland, Peach's Hot Chicken, Double Dutch Fries and The Brûlée Bike, to name just a few.
If all that wasn't enough to get out after dark on a winter's eve there will also be a raclette cart — yup, that's hot melted French cheese. Need I say more?
