They say everything comes in threes and this couldn't be truer for Aotearoa's queen of hip hop and soul, Ladi6. Last year she lost her voice, had two surgeries and cancelled two tours. But now Ladi6 is back with her extensive two-part Outta Time Tour this June and July — including an Auckland show at The Powerstation on July 21.
The first part of the tour takes Ladi6 on 13 performances across the regions. She will be performing her VNZMA-winning 2017 album Royal Blue 3000. Remarkably, this album is made up of songs created through live improv performance and promises an evening of mellow, dreamy textures. Ladi6 will be joined on the decks by her producer Park and legendary BaseFM DJ DylanC.
Part two in July will see Ladi6 in the four main centres with support from an all-women lineup, including dancehall queen SilvaMC, rapper JessB and soul songstress Bailey Wiley. This leg of the tour will also include songs from the aforementioned Royal Blue 3000.
The third bit of good news is that to celebrate her upcoming tour, Ladi6 has released a new single named 'Outta Time'. A full list of tour dates and ticket details can be found on Ladi6's website
