Overview

James Milne, better known as indie pop artist, Lawrence Arabia, is to perform a one-off show at the nostalgic venue of the Victoria Palace Theatre in the quaint, waterfront Auckland suburb of Devonport.

Since the release of his self-titled, debut album in 2006, Milne has had an extremely active role in various bands. He has been involved in the internationally succesful pop group, The Brunettes, as well as touring with American Okkervil River as bass players and has also toured with Feist. His debut album received nominations for the bNet awards and his second album 'Chant Darling', released three years later, won the inaugural Taite Music Prize in 2010, accompanied with acclaim from English newspaper, The Guardian.

2009 saw Lawrence perform with new band, BARB, on a compact New Zealand tour consisting of Connan Hosford (Connan and the Mockasins) and Liam Finn among others. Lawrence joined Crowded House's tour a year later and last year released his third album The Sparrow. Check out his single Travelling Shoes.
