Overview

Sit up, German electro-pop fans, because Milky Chance is headed to New Zealand this summer for one show only at Auckland’s Powerstation.

If you are unfamiliar with the band, sceptical of their suspiciously creamy name and generally wondering what all this hoo-hah is about (because chances are you’re 75 years old and don’t happen across viral Youtube videos, ever), then go forth into the vast land that is Youtube and search their song "Stolen Dance". You know it, don’t you? Of course you do! Who doesn’t?

Now that we’ve cleared that up and you’re grooving to the tune in your head that will now be stuck in there for the next twelve hours, I’ll tell you about the German duo with the name that sounds like an exotic and delicious chocolate bar. Milky Chance have skyrocketed to fame since the release of the aforementioned single, which went viral on Youtube and is currently sitting at a cool 75 million views, and so they quite logically decided to tour the world in support of that ridiculously catchy tune. Their self-produced debut album Sadnecessary was released in July and also features the single "Down by the River" (I advise you to click that link – the video has monkeys).

Anyway, this all brings us to the exciting announcement that Milky Chance will be bringing their electro-pop stylings to Auckland on Friday the 9th of January. Pre-sales start on Wednesday 17th September, with general sales starting on Thursday 18th September at 9am. Go get, folks! And take some chocolate.
