Overview
Three-piece Portland band Moon Duo makes music which has been described as "blistering, 12-cylinder space rock," and promises a psychedelic concert experience. Fans of the band will be familiar with their, vibey synths, dark, energetic guitar riffs and the smooth vocals of frontman (and wearer of impressive beard), Ripley Johnson. The uninitiated however, are in for an otherworldly, psychedelic treat, unlike anything they’ve heard before as Moon Duo blast their classic tunes, as well as new material off of their latest album: Shadow of the Sun.
The band's forthcoming gig will be held at iconic underground dive Whammy Bar, so you can be sure it’ll be packed to the rafters, with cheap drinks and good vibes all round. There’s only one show in Auckland, so don't miss the chance to witness these gods of psychedelic rock in the flesh.
