Overview

The annual Nightcap Tour returns to warm up your winter this weekend, featuring two massive British headliners. Dubstep and grime act, Joker (UK) and the sibling drum n bass duo of the Brookes Brothers (UK)  play the Studio, accompanied by local support including Daniel Farley (NZ) and D: UNK Live (NZ).

The Nightcap Tour presented by Madcap Touring and George FM is renowned for their emphasis on impressive sound and lighting production, as well as performance aesthetics - giving fans a unique nightlife experience.

Bristol's Joker is one of the most often imitated, yet rarely matched DJ/Producers currently active within the global bass music community. Studied in the histories of R&B, soul and funk, he folds these influences into a blueprint grounded in the rhythms of UK Grime, 8-bit video game music, and the subwoofer rupturing bass pressure of dubstep.  Having over the last five years released a string of classic singles, toured the globe, and remixed for Gorillaz, Basement Jaxx and Sub Focus, Joker now sits in a rare intersection. Equally valid within underground cool as well as chart stardom, Joker has obtained that rare, highly sought after combination of credibility and success.

London based brothers Phil and Dan Brookes have become one of leading lights in the more soulful side of the international drum and bass DJ/Producer scene over the last six years. Fluent in the wider history of modern music, they crib influences abstracted from funk, jazz, soul, pop and hip-hop into the mix. In the process, the Brookes Brothers have seen heavy support from DJ luminaries like Zane Lowe, Pete Tong, Adam F and Andy C. Along the way they have toured the world and entered the UK dance charts through singles like 'Tear You Down'. In 2011 they released their self-titled debut album to much commercial and critical acclaim, and were one of the standout acts at the inaugural Rhythm and Vines sister festival, Rhythm and Alps and also Northern Bass.

The Auckland leg is the finale of the nationwide Nightcap tour, hopefully saving the best for last and with only general and final release tickets remaining, be sure not to miss this one.
