No More Dancing In The Good Room

A little different from the usual song and dance.

Overview

No More Dancing in the Good Room is an autobiographical show by Chris Parker (of Snort and Hudson & Halls Live!). About a boy growing up gay in middle-class Christchurch, realising he’s more ‘Lord of the Dance’ than ‘1st XV’ - a little different from the usual song and dance.

The title comes from his childhood, where he would put on performances in his mum's "good room" until he got too long in the limbs to dance around without the risk of breakage - which ultimately resulted in his dancing being banned all together. Now what did you end up breaking Chris?

Having made its premiere at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival 2015, Parker will bring the unruly mash-up of theatre, dance and home videos back to Q Theatre's The Loft. This is one funny fellow who's show you do not want to miss, for a bit of light hearted laughs.
