Overview

Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to live on the streets? One Day Moko is inspired by real life encounters with homeless people in Auckland and Wellington.

K’Rd is Moko's home - strip clubs, karaoke bars and kebab houses. You can find just about everything here - minus the white picket fence. One Day Moko is about an urban misfit who builds a city, and a fantasy world, out of items others have tossed aside. Take a tour and discover Moko's regular haunts and secret spaces.

Created and performed by Tim Carlsen (Once on Chunuk Bair, I Love You Bro) this revised version is directed by Leo Gene Peters (Strange Resting Places). It examines how rebellion, opportunity and routine shape everyone's lives, even those who exist on the edge of mainstream society.

Carlsen is keen to bring live theatre to the disadvantaged and he needs your help to do it. Add $10 to your booking and you'll be enabling homeless folk from Auckland City Mission and young people from Nga Rangatahi Toa to come along to One Day Moko.
