Overview

Summer has come to an end and your surfboard may have already been stashed away in the garage, hibernating until the waves are warm again. Recapture a little of that summer magic by catching a surf doco at the fifth annual O'Neill Aotearoa Surf Film Festival.

The event brings the best of surf cinema to big cities, and coastal communities all over New Zealand. A panel of industry experts have selected the following films: Distance Between Dreams, Let's Be Frank and Peter Hamblin, as well as nine shorts to show at eight different screenings.

The grand finale will screen at Auckland's The Crystal Palace on Friday, May 19. This final showing will feature several short films as well as Let's Be Frank— a Red Bull production that chronicles the life and achievements of legendary big wave surfer Frank Solomon; and The Accord which showcases the reality of growing up a surfer in Iceland and their battle against the North Atlantic wind. Check out the full schedule and bring summer back for just a few hours by riding some visual waves at the O'Neill Aotearoa Surf Film Festival.
