Overview

Could you live on $2.25 a day? That's what participants in this year's 5 day Live Below the Line challenge have been doing this week in a bid to raise awareness of global poverty. The official wrap up party features spoken word poetry which will salivate your minds.

Poets Below the Line is a creative collaboration, mining poets from all over our local scene to make global poverty speak. Some come from youth project Rising Voices, others from acclaimed performers South Auckland Poets Collective, more from performance poetry collective The Literatti and others are fiercely independent voices.

They are all united by a single mantra; to embody a creative response to the global poverty crisis. This is the pen under duress. This is the cortex under pressure. This is poetry below the line.
