Overview

The words 'kiwi' and 'ingenuity' aren't synonymous for nothing. Over the years New Zealand has produced many a big achiever from our pint-sized population. Though we may be few and far between, Kiwis have an outstanding reputation for innovation and creativity. In their honour, artist Douglas Moores shares a unique perspective on Aotearoa in the upcoming exhibition World's Edge.

World's Edge all about providing a new perspective on a familiar landscape. The exhibition is a physical manifestion of the NZEDGE concept which aims to give NZ an 'edge' on the international stage by promoting a new way of thinking about our identity, people, stories, achievements and place in the world.

Through an analogue form of digital photography Douglas Moores manipulates images of coastal views capturing the quintessential New Zealand landscape. "The ocean has always been a liberating place for me. I wanted to capture the essence of the seascape and the concept of working right on the edge both physically and conceptually," says Moores.

Along with the show is a series of public talks by our best and brightest innovators giving their perspective on what it means to innovate from "the world's edge". World's Edge winds up with a POPdining event in support of Sustainable Coastlines; helping keep New Zealand beautiful.
