Overview

It’s time to hunt down your Flavor Flav dollar-sign chain and brush up on your hip-hop slang, because R.A The Rugged Man is coming to New Zealand for two shows this June and they will be great… fo’ shizzle.

Playing at Wellington’s beloved San Fran on Wednesday 10 June and Auckland’s Neck of the Woods on Thursday 11 June, the New York native is arriving on our shores to play a ballin’ set of long-time classics and new gems guaranteed to get the crowd bouncin’, yo.

Heralded as ‘one to watch’ when he first emerged on the scene in his teens, RA’s promising start as a hip-hop star soon faltered with a massive falling-out with his first label, Jive Records, who subsequently blacklisted the artist and inadvertently led him to adopt the classic underdog persona. Over the last decade, he’s toured tirelessly and worked with some of the biggest names in rap - including Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan and Kool G Rap – to earn his way to (underground) acclaim with a loyal allegiance of fans the world over.

If you need a refresher course (or are a newcomer to the cult of RA), go ahead and learn up on Legends Never Die; celebrated as his best album to date.
