Ramen Pop
Find this one-off ramen bar inside Parnell's coffee roastery.
Overview
There's nothing better than a piping hot bowl of noodles to warm up and, even better, soothe the symptoms of a wintry cold. Veering away from its daily grind, Parnell's Red Rabbit Coffee Roastery is transforming into a pop-up ramen bar this August. For one night only the local coffee haunt will be joined by Auckland's newest noodle joint Miso-ra to serve up the goods.
Run by husband and wife team Taku and Noriko Hida, Miso-ra operates out of a stall in Onehunga serving modern miso-based ramen. The pair's four-item menu includes original miso, spicy miso, curry and vegan options — with noodles made from flour to further cater for vegetarian and vegan diners. Chef Taku has over 10 years of experience in the industry, including a stint at Anzac Ave's much-loved Tanpopo.
For the ultimate winter warming experience Red Rabbit will be slinging Japanese-inspired cocktails, beer and other drinks to pair with Miso-ra's steamy bowls. The $25 ticket price includes ramen and one drink. The pop-up kicks off at 6pm. Spaces are limited.
