Overview

Back by popular demand, Sew Love Tea Do founder Sarah Lancaster will host a textile zine making workshop as part of Auckland Zine Fest's annual festival celebrating zines and all things craft and DIY. Textile zines are a great way to upcycle the fabric scraps and haberdashery that every crafty person keeps stashed at the back of the closet for a rainy day.

Under Sarah Lancaster's guidance, you'll learn traditional sewing techniques that will have you patchworking, stitching on appliqué and embroidering like a pro, making a zine out of old fabric, buttons, wool and trinkets. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own swag of material and knick knacks to use for your piece. Newcomers to zine making or crafts are more than welcome.

A worthwhile way to spend the morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Sew Love Tea Do Lounge in St. Kevin's Arcade. Space is limited, so register your interest by emailing [email protected].
