Overview

The time of year has come to put your Netflix account on hold and venture outdoors to get your motion picture fix. Silo Park has unveiled the program for its ninth season with a jam-packed schedule of films, food markets and free live entertainment taking place under the stars at the waterfront community space.

The lineup of films to screen on the former petrochemical silos includes a selection of freshly released blockbusters and timeless classics. Dust off your picnic rug and head down early to nab a spot for thought-provoking documentary 2040, New Zealand Film Festival favourite The Farewell, classic fairy tale The Princess Bride or Elton John musical biopic Rocketman.

Rounding off the working week on Friday, 17 January will be 2019 romantic comedy and Beatles tribute, Yesterday. The Danny Boyle-directed film follows struggling musician Jack who, after an accident, finds himself the only person who remembers the Beatles and becomes famous after taking credit for their songs.

Pop down early to get a good spot and enjoy the DJ, food trucks and Silo Bar from 5pm. The film will hit the silo from 9pm. Entry is free and all Silo Park activities are dependent on good weather, so check the Silo website for any updates.
