Overview

I hope you have been practising your pukana. New Zealand's premier, and only, indigenous music expo, Sounds Aotearoa visits the Aotea Centre as one of the last events of the summer.

Journey into a Maori world of music, experiencing quality musicians inspired by our whenua, ancestors, Maori language, and our rich culture and traditions. Features of the expo include exhibition booths and speaker seminars, imitating expo-style, business-networking events. Updates for the confirmed speakers and participants can be found at www.aaf.co.nz. There will also be showcases introducing Maori and Pacific bands, combined with information sessions regarding each artist.

Sounds Aotearoa will provide the opportunity to experience Aotearoa's unique and special sounds from traditional Te Reo Maori performers, to an array of dynamic contemporary bands, vocalists and musicians.
