Overview

The Adults are undeniably a New Zealand music supergroup. Their latest record Haja was inspired by traditional Sudanese music called aghani-al-banat which was performed at founder Jon Toogood's own wedding in 2014.

Featuring Jess B, Chelsea Jade, Estere and Aaradhna, the album notes read like a roll call of some of New Zealand's most powerful female voices. Transcending genre and place, this unique record is a pertinent statement on feminine power and identity. Punters now have the opportunity to hear Haja live when The Adults roll into The Powerstation on 15 September. Featuring Jon Toogood, Estere, Raiza Biza, Ben Wood and Emily C. Browning, it will be a must-see for fans of world music and feminism alike.
