Escaping the harsh reality of home life through imagination.

Overview

Silo Theatre is bringing back the critically acclaimed adaption of The Book of Everything for a short time this year at the Q Theatre.

The show retells the story of a young boy Thomas, who doesn't quite see the world as everyone else does, as he uses his imagination to escape the harsh reality of his home life. He keeps a book of all the things he dreams up such as meetings with Jesus and plagues of green frogs, but ultimately his wish is to one day be happy with what he inscribes in his 'Book of Everything' in the hope of it coming to fruition. Based on the beloved novel by Gus Kuijer, this onstage adaptation is creatively in tune and a beautiful rendition of the original Dutch story.

The show will run from February 12 to 25 before it jets its way around the North Island. Evening and matinee shows will both be available through the duration of the season. After the show was a success last year in its stint during the Auckland Arts Festival, with sold out shows through the production, no doubt there will be a repeat this time round.
