Overview

It's known as the Island of Wine, but Waiheke is quickly become the destination to sip homemade G&Ts. A hands-on experience between Batch Winery and The Botanical Distillery delves deep into the world of gin and allows spirit lovers to create their own signature concoction.

The three-hour Gin and Tonic Experience begins with a mini tour of the island. Upon reaching Batch Winery in Onetangi you will then be taken through 12 botanicals which are used to create gin. With instruction from The Botanical Distillery you will taste, chew, crunch and smell your way through plants and spices before fashioning two of your own signature gin and tonic creations.

For lunch, Batch Winery will serve up three decadent tiers — from smoked salmon fillet to smashed pavlova — as part of its high tea. The meal will come alongside a glass of bubbles and views stretching from the Coromandel Peninsula to Auckland.

There are three Gin and Tonic Experience sessions left in 2019: 7 September, 5 October and 9 November.
