The concert is aimed at awakening active citizenship around the issues of extreme poverty and climate change.  The event is supported by a stellar New Zealand line-up that includes Tiki Taane, Daniel Bedingfield, Anika Moa, Jamie McDell, Seth Haapu, AhoriBuzz and Maitreya, with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets to the Global Citizen concert can either be earned through becoming a Global Citizen at Globalcitizen.org or or purchased at the same site.
Limited early bird tickets are available for $30 until June, 13. A small release of VIP tickets will be on sale for $180, and they include a catered meal, drinks and the chance to mingle with artists and special guests in an exclusive area at the Auckland Town Hall.
