Overview

After a sell-out season in 2011, The Motor Camp is returning to Auckland. Enjoy the escapades of two couples and two teenagers who arrive at a motor camp and have to park their caravans next to each other. Plenty of laughs ensue as the adults try to enjoy their holiday while also keeping the hormonal teenagers apart.

Being a comedy you have to ignore the implausibility of the fact that academic, Frank Redmond, is trying to finish his thesis on the teaching of phonics in the chaos of a motor camp and that his youngish wife, Jude, is the Dean of the Arts Faculty at Victoria University. However, their typically sullen fifteen year-old daughter, Holly, who would way rather be with her boyfriend at The Mount, is all too amusingly believable.

In the next caravan are Kiwi bloke Mike Hislop, his Maori wife Dawn and her seventeen year-old son Jared. And yep, you guessed it; the two very different families do not get on. Watch as the sporty, DIY-loving, bigoted contractor clashes with the clumsy, nerdy academic. Of course there’s also a healthy dollop of sexual tension afoot to keep everyone entertained.

The Motor Camp promises to be a hilarious celebration of our annual camping rituals.
