Overview

In the lovely beachside setting of Devonport at the Victoria Picture Palace and Theatre, a pair by the names of Bosko and Honey will have armed themselves with ukeleles, joining our very own local group of ukelele virtuosos, The Nukes.

Hailing from West Auckland, The Nukes have been performing together for just 4 years, having toured the country and played many of NZ’s major festivals including arts festivals in Taupo and Taranaki, with appearances at Splore and WOMAD in 2012. The Nukes even managed to get across to Australia for an appearance at the Melbourne Ukulele Festival. The Nukes have also released an album of their original tunes ‘Each To Their Own’ through Ode Records.

Both groups have featured recently in major documentaries, Bosko and Honey in ‘The Mighty Uke’ and the Nukes in ‘Bill Sevesi’s dream’.

The groups will also be running workshops in conjunction with concerts so people can introduce themselves to the joys of the Uke (the little instrument that’s taking the world by storm), or simply improve their skills. The tour is designed to showcase professional ukulele performers in intimate, affordable settings with top production.
