The Street Food Collective: Hotdog Eating Competition

If you fancy yourself a speed eater and/or a lover of wieners, then on March 26 be sure to have a light lunch in preparation for the ultimate in Auckland hotdog eating comps. Ponsonby's The Street Food Collective is hosting this sausage fest in their airy courtyard, featuring such prolific wiener aficionados as Brooklyn Dogs, Rock Dogs and Mr Dog Frites. Hot dogs will be a measly $10 a pop all day and there will be sweet tunes on the speakers and cold drinks at the bar to accompany.

Like ‘em spicy? Then pour yourself a cup of milk and get ready for the Hottest Hot Dog Competition, a challenge to consume The Firestarter, a hot dog belched forth from the nefarious minds of Rock Dogs. At 7pm the main event begins, where Auckland’s most ravenous will go head to head, to see who can inhale six hotdogs the fastest and be crowned Auckland's 'King of Wieners', take home eternal glory and a shiny trophy.
