The Underachievers
Rapid-fire astral visions.
Overview
As the internet tells it, Brooklyn hip hop group The Underachievers were brought together by a mutual love of psychedelic drugs. Naturally, their bent for psychotropics and opening up the third eye has had a significant effect on their musical style, best described as: rapid-fire astral visions.
Made up of Issa Gold and AK, the group have released two mixtapes and two studio albums in their breakneck career. Their latest full-length release Evermore: The Art of Duality saw the light of day in September last year. The release is an auto-biographical manifesto of The Underachiever's lifestyle past and present, exploring the concept of opposites: higher and lower self, body and mind, confusion and clarity, peace and war.
Last in New Zealand in 2013 supporting fellow Brooklyn rapper Joey Badass, The Underachievers will return to Auckland's King's Arms Tavern for the second leg of The Forevermore Express Tour.
