Overview

Bypassing Auckland on their latest jaunt, UK-by-the-way-of-NZ band The Veils are set to treat the locals of Leigh and anyone who makes the journey one hour north this long weekend.

The tour comes hot on the heels of the band's fifth album, Total Depravity, recorded over a two-year period in Portugal, London, Los Angeles and New York with Run The Jewels' EL-P and Atom Greenspan. In an interview with Concrete Playground, frontman Finn Andrews said the recording process was "all about taking the organic instruments of the band and then fucking them up which really was tremendous fun."

The five-piece have been darlings of the alternative music scene since unveiling their debut long player The Runaway Found in 2004. Now four albums deep, the band are masters of dynamic, combining delicate moments of beauty with full blown chaos. Punters at the Leigh show can expect the evening to evolve from intimate moments of time and space to possessed vocals and an ungodly racket.
