Overview

Fresh off the Gunslinger's Ball Tour, Steve Abel, Bernie Griffin and The Bads return as part of The Wine Cellar Strings.

The first show in September drew a capacity crowd, with these string-sawing rascals sure to keep the scene alive this time round. For this second performance, three acts with astute reputations as the leading lights of the Auckland alt-folk scene have been entrusted to uphold the night's revelry.

The concept involves regular fiddle players, cellists and upright bass players who frequent The Wine Cellar, coming together to form a string section, invite their favourite songwriters to feature in occasional shows, and perform stripped back versions of their songs with swaggering string arrangements.

This night's edition features The Bads and Bernie Griffin who have recently stepped off the stage after supporting Emmylou Harris at Vector Arena, and Steve Abel has caused audiences around the world to swoon with his mournfully beautiful songs.

Be sure to not miss out again on a previously sold out event.
