Trolley Grand Prix

Overview

The Red Bull Trolley Grand Prix is fast approaching. Hundreds of trolley entries from all around New Zealand were submitted and 40 have been selected to race this Sunday.

The rules are simple. All trolleys must be homemade and non-motorised, teams relying on the power of gravity to win. Teams have had since August to perfect their trolleys and are competing for a grand price of $10,000 and gloating rights. The teams will not only to be judged on the speed and capability but to also the creativity and showmanship on the day.

A large crowd is expected down at the Auckland Domain track to support the amateur trolley teams, as there is a bigger and better viewing area and a new and improved track. The new racetrack now features more turns, obstacles and 650 metre downhill slope.

The track opens at 10am. Racing starts at 11am and goes till 4pm.
