Winetopia 2018
Two days of wine quaffing.
Overview
The event they call the 'greatest celebration of New Zealand wine' returns this June for two days of wine quaffing.
The lineup for Winetopia 2018 boasts wineries from every wine producing region in the country. As well as offering far too many varietals to swallow in one sitting, the event will give attendees the opportunity to meet winemakers, discover what terms like 'hue', 'flabby' and 'tannins' mean at tasting masterclasses, and school up on tricks from sommeliers about food and wine matching.
Australian wine guru Mick Bennie will be onboard to share his vast wine knowledge and quash rumours that Australians only drink wine from a box, while New Zealand will be represented by prolific wine commentator and certified Master of Wine, Bob Campbell. As the good stuff sinks in an entertainment program will commence. The lineup includes The Ol' Dirty Brass Band featuring Fat Freddy's Drop trombonist Joe Lindsay, singer Lisa Tomlins, saxophonist Lucien Johnson and drummer Julien Dyne.
The latest release of $39 tickets includes entry to one session, five wine tastings, a wine glass plus free talks and entertainment. Winetopia 2018 will be held at Shed 10 from June 22-23.
