Auckland Restaurant Month Has Dropped a Mouthwatering Lineup for 2019
The epic food gala returns with 25-course vegetarian degustations, foraged feasts and tequila tastings.
The time is nigh to put your diet on hold and dust off those stretchy pants. The ninth outing of Restaurant Month returns to the heart of the city next month with over 100 special menus, 25 intriguing dining events, a host of visiting international chefs, and a whole lot more reasons to simply go out and eat.
The Chef Dining Series is a staple feature of Restaurant Month and every week international chefs by way of New York, Hong Kong and Melbourne will team up with local talent to deliver collaborative dining experiences. This year, celebrated chef Amanda Cohen will make a one-off appearance at Giraffe with her vegetable-heavy Dirt Candy concept; Giulio Sturla will bring recently closed Lyttelton restaurant back to life at The Grove; Maha's Shane Delia will present his take on contemporary Middle Eastern cuisine at Soul Bar; and culinary legend David Thompson will bring award-winning Thai food to Federal Street's Huami.
Further highlights include gourmet tasting tours by bike, five-course foraged feasts, oyster masterclasses, mid-winter barbeque parties, a 25-course vegetarian degustation and tequila tastings.
The special menus feature of Restaurant Month has something for all persuasions and wallet sizes. Available everywhere from The Culpeper to Lowbrow and Britomart's Ebisu, the 100 menus on offer will be set at three special price points: $25, $40 and $55+.
