Overview

The Calile Hotel has become Brisbane's benchmark for modern luxury: a design-led stay that feels more like a resort than a city hotel. Set on Fortitude Valley's James Street, the seven-storey property is centred around its now-iconic pool, lined with cabanas and sun lounges, where guests and locals gather from morning through to late afternoon.

Designed by Richards and Spence, The Calile's architecture leans into Brisbane's subtropical climate, with breezeways, open corridors and lush planting softening the pale concrete exterior. The result is a hotel that feels airy and relaxed, while still delivering a strong sense of place.

Inside, the 175 rooms favour a calm, textural palette of oak, cork and stone, with thoughtful inclusions such as motorised blackout blinds, Chromecast and locally sourced minibar items. It's a space designed for switching off – equal parts polished and comfortable.

Amenities round out the experience. There's a day spa, gym and all-day dining at the Lobby Bar, while Hellenika brings a lively poolside restaurant into the mix. Valet parking is available onsite, Brisbane Airport is around a 15-20 minute drive away, and James Street's boutiques, restaurants and bars are all just steps from the front door.
