Overview

Make your way along Meadowbank Road and you will find a new quality, stylish café. Moloko is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am until 3pm and weekends from 8am to 4pm and has ample parking outside – always a bonus in Auckland.

A light and spacious space, it would be ideal for a group brunch with friends, but there are also cosy tables for two for a more intimate meal. There is seating both inside and outside and the coffee is a quality Eighthirty brew.

The menu is mainly European and the items are interesting and unique. There is delicious looking counter food as well as the main menu so definitely think about taking a sweet snack away with you.

The service is attentive and professional and we enjoyed the divine Russian ricotta pancakes. Definitely the star dish. We also sampled the corn fritters with bacon — come hungry. Portion sizes vary — the corn fritters were huge whereas the ricotta pancakes were a more modest size.

We were very well looked after by our charming waiter and were attended to quickly. The menu was explained in detail and although the menu isn't too large, there is a great selection of hot and cold dishes.

From your seat you will have a view of the open kitchen where the breakfast dishes come to life in the capable hands of the chefs. Around you will be a mixture of business people, mums and babies and people popping in for a refuel after the gym. The relaxed feel is really welcoming and we can see this café quickly becoming a neighbourhood favourite.

Whether you're popping in for a coffee or a more substantial meal, Moloko is a great asset to Meadowbank.
