There's no right or wrong way to eat gelato. That said, if you're feeling a bit like you've licked every scoop ever, there is a more interesting way. Forget everything you've ever been told about flavour and texture combinations, and about not eating dessert for dinner, with Atelier Brasserie and La Macelleria teaming up for a creative degustation.

Across five courses, Atelier Brasserie's head chef Dallas Costello and La Macelleria's Matteo Zini will treat your tastebuds to dishes you never even thought possible — beef tartare with mustard gelato is one of them. The idea is to get playful, explore different blends and temperatures, and challenge your preconceived notions about the Italian dessert.

The one-off Fine Food Meets Gastronomical Gelato event is happening at Atelier Brasserie's King Street digs from 6.30pm on Wednesday, September 5. Tickets cost $79 for what promises to be a culinary adventure — although, if you have specific dietary requirements, it's worth noting that substitutions can't be made to the menu.
