Overview

Brisbane's suburbs are being treated to intimate live music gigs this September. Brisbane Festival is bringing mini shows to at least 23 parts of town to create festivals in the streets and concerts in cul de sacs. When it first joined the fest lineup back in 2020, this free live music showcase was inspired by the community responses to the global pandemic — in which Italians sang on their balconies and Americans choreographed TikTok dances. So, think of this as the Brissie version.

In 2023 — this time, from Saturday, September 2–Saturday, September 23 — Brisbane Serenades is busting out parties, festivals within festivals, concerts and classical music shows. MOSAIC Multicultural Festival at Roma Street Parklands is one. Bris Fest's closing gig at Victoria Park is another.

Fancy a block party in Moorooka? Who doesn't, and that also falls under Brisbane Serenades' remit this year.

Or, in the roving truck, the 2023 lineup spans Camerata, Nina Korbe, Ensemble Q, Yatra and Kooralbyn
