Million Paws Walk
Grab your pooch, pop on your sneakers and help raise money for animals in need.
Overview
If you're a dog person, being surrounded by wagging tails and beaming pooch faces is one of the happiest feelings in the world. Here's another: doing your part to assist animals in need. Each year — a pandemic hiatus aside — the RSPCA's Million Paws Walk combines the two, asking Brisbanites and their puppers to go for a stroll to help raise funds for an obviously extremely worth cause.
Come Sunday, May 26, this endorphin-sparking mosey returns for 2024, taking over the Forgan Smith Lawn at the University of Queensland in St Lucia. Whether you're keen to dress up for the occasion — in a matching outfit to your four-legged bestie, of course — or just pop on your sneakers and usual workout attire, then join in from 10.30am (with registrations from 8am).
Entry costs $17.50 for adults and $15 for concessions, with the money raised going towards RSPCA Queensland's work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals.
In addition to the exercise, you and Rover can browse a heap stalls afterwards, listen to live tunes and grab a bite to eat from food trucks. There's also dog competitions and games as well.
