Who says cosplay is just for conventions? Not Brisbane Powerhouse and Supanova, that’s for sure. For everyone who has wanted to break out their favourite pop culture costume on the biggest night of the year, the city’s coolest riverside venue and the country’s number one fan event combine to throw a different kind of New Year’s Eve party. A cosplay prom is the clear centerpiece, swapping fancy frocks for fun outfits inspired by TV, film, game, anime and comics.
There’s plenty more to the geek celebration, however. Expect live music, DJs, trivia, retro arcade games, and film screenings in what everyone can only hope is the first of many such end-of-year gatherings.
