Off the Streets and into the Arts
Disperse with your preconceived notions though, as Minter Ellison opens its doors on the 7th of July, and provides a hot venue, cool jazz and delicious snacks for the opening of ‘Off the Streets and Into the Arts’ an exhibition of work created by members of the 139 Art group.
Overview
When imagining an exhibition at the exclusive Minter Ellison building at Waterfront Place riverside, one tends to envisage a somewhat snooty, ‘hoity toity’ affair, closed to those without a couple of hundred thou in their back pocket.
Disperse with your preconceived notions though, as Minter Ellison opens its doors on the 7th of July, and provides a hot venue, cool jazz and delicious snacks for the opening of ‘Off the Streets and Into the Arts’ an exhibition of work created by members of the 139 Art group.
This group of people struggling with homelessness meets each Monday to experience the joy of art making and learning new skills together, the outcome of which is an exciting exhibition of unique and beautifully crafted works of creativity.
It’s $10 to head along to this fabulous art event on the 7th of July, and all the money raised through tickets and art sales is invested back into the artists and the 139 Art group.
So scurry along, and see the smiles that light up the faces of some of Brisbane’s most needy when their artwork is purchased and their talent and hard work is recognised.
