Overview

So, you've always wanted to be a writer, but you don't know where to start. The Queensland Writers Centre should be every aspiring wordsmith's first port of call. Don't just take our word for it — check them out for yourselves.

In fact, they're throwing an open day so that the next generation of budding literary stars can do just that. Where else will you get to listen to Queensland authors such as Samantha Wheeler, Anna Campbell and Kari Gislason talk about crafting content for younger readers, writing up a romantic storm or combining their fondness for text with a travel itinerary? Or take an excursion through the state's pulpy crime, adventure and speculative fiction output?

It's the perfect way to commemorate QWC's 25 years of operation, with everything from casual discussions to celebratory cake all part of the lineup. No one is going to say no to the latter; however with so much interesting chatter to listen to, it's really the icing on a jam-packed event.
