If your dog lives better than you do, you've probably crossed paths with The Puptail Society's broth-based mocktails for dogs. This year, the label is expanding beyond drinks with another delicious concept – a fine-dining experience for the pups and their people.
The dog-friendly dinner is held in partnership with canine couture label Nicole and Baby. After selling out in Sydney earlier this year, The Puptail Society will take over Brisbane's Crystalbrooke Vincent on Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25.
"I was looking for creative ways to include Khalessi [my pup] in my daily routine beyond the usual errands, casual bites, or walks. Turns out, I wasn't the only one looking for this," Puptail Society founder Katie Shelby says.
Furry friends get a three-course degustation menu of culinary creations like salmon-skin-topped egg terrine, lactose-free cheese puffs, beef patties topped with peanut-butter biscuits, and a dessert board.
Everything is cooked with top-notch ingredients from local artisanal pet brands like Pip Eats, Bones & Whiskers, Sherpa Treats and PawPure, and the meal includes a mocktail pairing from Puptail Society.
Meanwhile, humans can expect four courses starring Queensland produce. The dinner starts with beetroot macaron canapés, then moves into scallops, 250g grain-fed sirloin steak served with roast vegetables and blackberry butter, and ends on a sweet note with a wattle-and-white-chocolate crème brûlée tart.
There are two types of tickets – there's a $20 surcharge for larger dogs – as well as an option for dog-lovers without a furry friend. Ten dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to Pug Patrol, a Brisbane charity supporting rescue dogs in need.
The Puptail Society dinner will start at 5.30pm on both Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. Book in on the website.
