Overview

Day-trippers, your weekend wanderings up the Sunshine Coast are about to get a whole lot hoppier. Sure, heading north has always meant paying a trip to the odd winery or three, but now there's a new brewery adding glorious beer to the equation.

Meet Brouhaha, Maleny's first boutique establishment dedicated to craft ales, lagers and other yeasty bev. Due to open in late May, it'll kick off with a four-brew menu featuring a blonde ale, an American pale ale, and a saison split in two – one dry and hopsy, the other infused with raspberries. And if those don't take your fancy, six others will flow through their ten taps down the line. They won't be selling cans or bottles as first, but their beer will be available in growlers. So yeah, get ready to stock up.

But quenching your thirst on site or at home isn't the brewery's only aim. Taking over a space on Coral Street that was previously occupied by a medical centre, they'll also offer a pub food selection overflowing with fresh, locally sourced produce. Combine that with killer views over the picturesque Maleny township, and we might be making the drive up the coast a bit more often.

Brouhaha Brewery will be opening soon at 6/39 Coral Street, Maleny. Check out their website and Facebook page for further info.
