Overview
Forget burgers, Brisbanites — there's a new meat and bread combination in town. If The Yiros Shop has its way, soon everyone in the city will be feasting on their fluffy pitas, stuffed with everything from haloumi and hot chips to pork, chicken and lamb.
And we really do mean the city, given that the chain of stores has set up their next shop right in the heart of the CBD. As of earlier this week, they're serving up traditional Greek fare from the corner of Edward and Charlotte streets.
That doesn't only include yiros, as tasty as they are. You'll also find Greek salads on offer, plus Greek-topped chips (their take on loaded fries) and a range of home-style desserts. Baklava and loukoumades, anyone?
With their number of outlets now totalling four thanks to their existing setups in Cannon Hill, Fortitude Valley and South Bank, The Yiros Shop are well on their way to spreading their Mediterranean delights all around south-east Queensland. For the moment, you can probably remember a time before yiros. At this rate, that won't be the case for much longer.
Find The Yiros Shop at 2/120 Edward Street, Brisbane City. Check out their website and Facebook page for further information.
