Overview
It's official. Hard seltzers are going to be the drink of summer 2020. The sparkling alcoholic drink peaked in popularity in the States last year, and now it's Australia's turn to add a little extra fizz to our summer picnics. If you haven't heard of a hard seltzer, they're popular for being a lighter choice when it comes to a ready-to-drink beverage. Naturally low in sugar and calories, it's become a go-to for alfresco celebrations when you want to drink something a little different without that heavy feeling.
And, when you want to make sure you're supporting local businesses in your drink of choice, you can now pick up a four pack of W Seltzer from your local bottle shop. The new naturally brewed, locally made drinks come in three flavours — summer berries, tropical mango and classic lime. And they're available for $19.99 for a pack of four cans.
Whereas some other hard seltzers are made with premixed spirits, W Seltzer was crafted after a year perfecting a rice-based seltzer recipe that means it's also naturally gluten-free and vegan. The result is crisp and clean drinks that offer a hint of fruit flavour, with each can containing less than a gram of sugar.
W Seltzers are made by independent brewery Wayward Brewing Co., based in Camperdown, Sydney, and you can find them in bottle shops across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
