While the Little Greek Taverna is a Brisbane institution needing no introduction, it is a refreshing break from a dining world where paying $35 for a main meal has become 'the norm'.

Take your $35 to Little Greek and you can order any entree and main, pop down to the bottle shop and pick up wine, pay the corkage and still have change left for baklava. With consistent, healthy and quality food it's no wonder this place has become a local favourite.

With busy tables that spill out onto West End's well-trodden footpaths and prices that mimic the state of the Greek economy (read: cheap), its atmosphere and authenticity give it a big tick in the right direction. Little Greek keeps it simple with minimalistic decor and a touch of traditional music. Sit back and relax, let the sounds of the bouzouki take you to whitewashed walls of the Mediterranean and tuck into a feast.

Mains come in at around $15 for a set of lamb cutlets, chicken souvlaki or pork chops with salad. Or if you wish, take creative control of your meal and pick and choose from the big range of meats and throw a salad on the side later - perfect for those #bulking and #cleaneating. Be sure to order the spanakopita ($6), these three crispy spirals of spinach and ricotta go down a treat, and save room for loukoumi ($3), their delicious rose flavoured turkish delight. And remember, if you hear the kitchen smash a plate, it was probably intentional.
