Jollys Lookout
The oldest formal lookout on the range, named after a Brisbane Lord Mayor.
Overview
Jollys Lookout holds the title of the oldest formal lookout on the D'Aguilar Range, named in the 1920s after then-Lord Mayor of Brisbane William Alfred Jolly. From the platform, a 180-degree sweep takes in the D'Aguilar Range and Glass House Mountains on one side and Samford Valley running out to Moreton Bay and its islands on the other. And it's all just 28 kilometres out of the CBD.
Free electric barbecues, picnic tables and flush toilets make it an easy set-up for a group, and the site is open 24 hours if you're chasing sunrise or sunset light. For something more active before or after, the short Egernia circuit or the longer Thylogale walking track both run from the same car park, with a decent chance of spotting kookaburras, goannas or wallabies along the way.
