Kangaroo Point Cliffs
These sandstone cliffs offer what is regularly deemed the best sunset view in Brisbane.
Overview
Kangaroo Point Cliffs give you two ways to take in the same stretch of river: climb to the top for a wide view over the eastern CBD with the Great Dividing Range in the background, or stay at the base for a closer, riverside perspective. Either way, it's regularly called the best spot in Brisbane to watch the sun go down, especially once the CBD's lights start switching on against the darkening sky.
Gazebos, tables, seating and free barbecues are scattered along both the upper and lower parks, so there's no shortage of places to set up. The cliffs double as one of the city's most popular rock-climbing spots and sit right on a cycling path, so it's easy to make an afternoon of it before the light show starts.
